Light and air

A light breeze drifts in the window, carrying the fragrance of spring flowers. When the wind drops, the sun’s warmth glows on the skin. From a window seat, the scent and colour of the outdoors can be enjoyed within. The seat is made on a wide windowsill or sturdy wooden chest that can safely hold a person’s weight, topped with a large flat cushion. A plumper one is used to support the back. A glass of chilled water and reading matter are all that is required for a restful afternoon, with the birds and flowers just inches away.
