Wall of colour

-

A large bookcase becomes a feature wall when its contents are organised in a spectrum of colour. The spine of each book is matched with others of a similar hue, gradually transitioning from one colour to the next. Those with lighter and brighter spines occupy the uppermost shelves, which tend to catch the eye first. Blue, green and finally black books sit on the lower shelves where their weight is naturally pleasing. To introduce variation, the books are lined up vertically on some shelves and stacked on their sides on others.
