A use for everything

-

A new product has recently been developed, also the result of an enquiry. “One of my regular customers, a florist in Edinburgh, asked if I sold confetti made from dried petals,” says Paula. “At the time, I didn’t, but I do now. I’d been selling dried flowers for a while, but it hadn’t occurred to me to dry the petals to make confetti. It actually makes perfect sense and fits in with the ethos of ‘waste not, want not’.” Any flowers that are not sold are used by Paula for dye-making, drying, confetti, or added to the compost heap. Berries may be frozen to make dyes during the winter months, to ensure nothing goes to waste.
