crowning the room

With long ribbons resembling those trailing from a traditional maypole, this hanging decoration adds playful colour to a room. A circular frame can be simply made from a strip of thick card covered with leftover floral material, which is carefully glued in place. A selection of colourful ribbons are selected and tied on the frame. Three wider ribbons are then fastened equidistant around the hoop and brought together at the opposite end. The decoration is attached securely to the base of a light shade, with a pretty bow as a finishing touch. Tiny fabric flowers dotted between the hanging ribbons bring a hint of late springtime indoors.
