Located just outside the stunning cathedral city, leading exhibitors from across the UK and Europe provide an eclectic mix of fine antiques, art, gardenalia, vintage and militaria to give visitors the very best of what is available on the antiques and home market today. www.asfairs.com Artists’ Open Studio Event Southwell and Upton, Nottinghamshire 26-28 May Visit the Creatives of Southwell and the Upton Artists on the late May Bank Holiday and enjoy artists’ trails, demonstrations, workshops and exhibitions as part of Open Studios Nottinghamshire. There will be fun activities for both adults and children. Open Studios Nottinghamshire promotes Nottinghamshire and Nottingham-based artists and makers through annual open studio events. www.osnotts.co.uk Perennial Special Garden Event Sandymere Gardens, Cotebrook, Cheshire 31 May This original 1920s Azalea and Rhododendron Garden has developed over 30 years into a collection of garden surprises, including a Hosta Garden, waterfall and lake with a boathouse. After a tour by head gardener Rachel Pemberton and gardener Susan Murray, guests will depart for lunch to a local eatery. www.perennial.org.uk Edwardian Life Hever Castle and Gardens, Hever, Kent 26 May-3 June Travel back in time to the early 20th century and take a glimpse into the Edwardian era. The beautiful grounds of this historic castle will bring the ‘upstairs downstairs’ years to life, with fairground games and costumed characters dressed in the traditional garments of the period. Prizes will be awarded on the day for the best-dressed Edwardian boy and girl. www.hevercastle.co.uk Ramsey Island Guided Walks Ramsey Island, Pembrokeshire 31 May-28 June A resident RSPB warden will be the guide for a walk round one of the most breathtaking reserves in Wales. Special emphasis will be placed on seabirds and the Manx shearwater, one of Pembrokeshire’s most important but least known birds, and there will be an opportunity to learn how Ramsey’s history has shaped their populations.
