Exquisite craft is passed on
I was delighted to see the article ‘Beauty in a Button’, featured in the March 2018 edition of LandScape magazine. I was first introduced to Dorset buttons approximately 30 years ago by Joan Carter, a fellow member of our local embroidery group. Sadly, Joan passed away several years ago, and I inherited a small collection of her sample buttons, which I treasure. I am now a member of the Teme Valley branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild. Our recent workshop focused on the art of Dorset button making, so I am pleased to say there are still people creating these lovely little treasures. Hazel Saunders, Worcestershire
