A cool glass of wine enjoyed in the garden is a pleasant way to spend a summer evening, but the cork can be difficult to reinsert in the bottle. To make it easier, the stopper is dropped into boiling water and lifted out with a slotted spoon. The hot water makes it more pliable and easier to squeeze into the neck.
