Climbing frames

-

A wooden ladder, worn by usage and the weather, can be put to new use as a shelf in the home or conservatory. If the ladder is in a very bad condition, it may need to be sanded first. Rubbing the wood with linseed oil or beeswax can also help to protect it and enhance the finish. After being securely attached to the wall with brackets, a display can be built. The rungs create natural frames for any item placed between them, and a series of items can be linked by a theme. Lighter objects are placed on top of the ladder and the lower edge can be strung with bunting or used to display wall hangings Handy items are then in easy reach. Soon an arrangement of useful, beautiful or precious things has found a new and unusual home.
