TRANSIENT SHAPES

-

On an unhurried walk by the shore, shells are collected, washed clean by the sea. Cockles in shades of cream, pink, white and tan are admired for their simple individual beauty. Later, they are used to idly create forms and patterns on the sand. Arranged together, they display the intricacy of their ridged shells, subtle striping and domed shape. At the end of the day, they are left behind to be discovered by a fellow beach visitor or returned to their place by the sea’s edge.
