Suzanne Breakwell captures the realistic form and movement of garden birds in sculptures made by hand and to order. This blue tit appears to have had his attention caught by an unexpected sound or movement. He is made from wire and papier mâché, coated with torn cotton rag papers and painted in bright inks. A coating of UV-resistant paper varnish adds a protective layer. Perched on a piece of locally coppiced, seasoned oak, he looks as though he might take flight in the flash of a moment.
