Treading a new path

-

Rounds of wood are used to create a stepping stone path through the garden, with a rustic look that hints at discovery. The wood can become slippery in wet weather, so to minimise this, the rounds are cut or placed at a slight angle, aiding drainage. A layer of gravel or sand can also be laid beneath the wood. As well as forming a playful feature, they create a path between tender plants, so they can be cared for without the risk of being stepped on.
