In the garden

-

An amber glow emanates from a row of flowerpot lanterns, coloured ribbons lifted by the evening breeze. To make one, a clay flowerpot, bamboo stake, selection of ribbons and several elastic bands are needed. The bands are twisted around the top of the cane and ribbons tied on. The pot is placed on the cane, through the drainage hole, which is stuck in place when it catches on the bands. The cane is pushed deep into the earth to remain stable. Gravel inside the pot creates a layer on which the tealight can sit. They are kept away from children and not left unattended, so the light can be safely enjoyed.
