Taste of my childhood

I used to live in North Germany as a teenager. When we left, my dad bought me an East Friesland tea set to keep as a memory of our time there. The wild rose decorations always reminded me of the roses that used to grow in the hedgerows where we lived. When I saw the same teapot and rose design beside the strawberry drizzle cake in the June 2018 issue of LandScape, I was immediately transported to those bygone days. I decided to make the cake for Father’s Day. It brought back so many memories of the unique tea drinking area of Germany we resided in, and the cake tasted great too. Liz Bowden, Manchester
