A SIZZLING START
At the family-run Netherton Foundry in Shropshire, materials are sourced locally and from neighbouring counties, with traditional designs and values. Its 12in (30cm) breakfast pan is made from spun iron, with two removable pan dividers. These slot together to divide the pan into quarters, allowing four ingredients to be cooked at once. With the dividers removed, it can be used as a simple frying pan. The handle is handmade from British oak and treated with Sussex flax oil, which can be reapplied at home. With care, the pan can last for many years. 12in (30cm) spun iron breakfast pan £76, www.netherton-foundry.co.uk
