JUICING METHODS
Pears can be juiced using a freestanding or handheld blender. If using the latter, the pears should be cut into chunks and placed in a high-sided bowl. A little water can be added once the pulp is smooth, to reach the desired consistency. A fine mesh strainer is then placed over another bowl and the pureed fruit pressed through using a spatula or the back of a large spoon. Alternative methods include wrapping grated pears in a piece of cheesecloth and squeezing it tightly over a bowl to extract the juice. Chopped fruit can also be mashed in a bowl and the juice poured off.
