PETALS AGLOW

A collection of old jam jars are transformed into colourful candle holders when decorated with pretty fabric cut-outs. The jars are thoroughly washed in hot soapy water and all traces of the label removed. Individual flowers are carefully cut out from floral fabric. When the jars are completely cool and dry, the areas where the flowers will be placed are gently rubbed with fine sandpaper. Glue is applied to the back of the cut-outs, which are then pressed onto the jar. Any glue that seeps out from the edges is carefully wiped clean. The completed design is left to dry overnight before a tea light is carefully lowered inside and lit with a long match.
