Medieval Music in the Dales

this month, 14th century Bolton castle will provide the perfect backdrop for one of europe’s largest festivals devoted to medieval music. themed around the stories of medieval Britain, visitors can listen to musicians and tellers of tales in authentic costume, participate in hands-on workshops and be given the opportunity to play instruments associated with the Middle ages, such as the bagpipes and the hurdy-gurdy, or shawm.
