Amarines

-

A cross between Nerine bowdenii and Amaryllis belladonna, the belladonna lily, amarines look very similar to nerines, but make bigger plants, with bigger flowers which are borne at the same time as the leaves. They have the vigour and size of Amaryllis belladonna, which grows to approximately 30in (75cm) tall. They are grown in the same way as nerines, but need an extra 2in (5cm) of space between each bulb when planted in groups. These plants have only become available commercially in the last 10 years, and they come in different shades, including pale pink ‘Emmanuel’, mid pink ‘Aphrodite’ and dark pink ‘Anastasia’.

?? ?? The bold hybrid Amarine belladiva brings the best of nerines and amaryllis into one plant.
