A striking bouquet

-

Sweetcorn is also available in ornamental varieties which can be used in a seasonal table decoration. If not already dried, the ears of corn are tied with string and hung in a cool, dark place for one week. They are ready when the kernels become hard enough to resist the pressure of a fingernail. The ears are then taken down, bundled together and tied with garden twine, with the leafy husks peeled upward. Their colour and flamelike tops needs little else to make a statement.
