Making use of surplus fruit
I associate autumn with foraging for hedgerow fruit. The sight of shiny, jewel-like blackberries is always so welcome, and we have picked batches for bramble jam. Summer gave me lots of rhubarb from the garden, which I have used to make gin, but here come the sloes. Batches of sloe gin are to be made, ready for Christmas. Ciara Dwyer-Parker, Hampshire
