Ships A-sailing

From her home studio in Ovingdean on the East Sussex coast, Nula Shearing creates whimsical stamps in great detail. The fairy and folk tales she was told by her mother and grandmother as a child influence her designs, which draw on scenes of nature, landscapes, plants and animals. This design, featuring ships rocking on the ocean waves, has been inspired by holidays to the Scilly Isles and the fishermen’s cottages the family stayed in. I saw three ships stamp £16, noolibird.com
