A glistening curtain

I really enjoyed the article ‘Nature’s Needlework’ on the spider’s web and the lives of spiders in the October 2018 issue of Land Scape. As we live in the country, we do get a lot of spiders. My greenhouse is a home for large black spiders and their ethereal cobwebs. Here is their silky artwork before the early sun could melt the frost away. The web looks so delicate, just like a piece of pretty lace. No sign of Mrs Spider. Sue Rollason, Shropshire
