KEY RING
The ankle hem from a leg of a pair of jeans is carefully cut off. If making the draught excluder, a cut-off hem edge can be saved for this project. The seam should measure approximately 10in (25cm) in length. Small beads or buttons can then be sewn on for decoration. The strip is passed through the centre of the split ring looped through the key, and the ends lined up. A contrasting coloured thread is wound ½in (1cm) above the ends to bind them firmly together. The cotton is tied off to finish.
