CREATING A COSY NOOK

Sometimes used for storing cleaning equipment and hanging coats, the space under the stairs can be transformed into a snug living area. Shelving is tucked away along the back wall to display books and trinkets. A comfortable chair is placed in the corner with a small coffee table nearby, and everything is arranged within easy reach. Postcards, letters and photographs from precious times decorate the wall to prompt reflection. In this way, an overlooked corner becomes a place to rest awhile.
