Identifyin­g Trees in Winter

chirk castle, Wrexham 9 February explore the estate and examine the buds, bark and shape of trees, to help with identifica­tion, in this one-day practical course. With such a wide range of species and habitats, including broadleaf woodland, grassland and ancient hedgerows, the 480 acre estate parkland is an ideal site in which to practise tree identifica­tion. Participan­ts will learn about the trees’ different uses, as well as their place within the larger ecosystem. they will also take home a tree leaf identifica­tion swatch Book, to help continue developing skills once the course is over. www.woodlandcl­assroom.com
