‘White forsythia’

-

All forsythia have yellow flowers, but the closely related abeliophyllum, often referred to as white forsythia, has pale pink or white flowers. Although superficially similar, it is more delicate in appearance, preferring a sunny, sheltered place to grow. It also blooms in spring, on bare stems, and the almond-scented flowers make it a valued shrub for the base of a warm wall.
