FRAGILE BEAUTY
Textile artist Ann Honeyman uses machine embroidery and traditional hand stitching techniques to create pieces inspired by the natural world. This delicate bowl is made from embroidery sewn on water-soluble fabric, then moulded into shape by hand while damp. The design resembles the coral-like appearance of bleached maerl seaweed found on the white beaches of the Isle of Skye, where Ann is based. The bowls’ size may vary, but each measures approximately 7cm in diameter and 5cm in height. It can be placed on a table as a conversational piece or displayed as a pretty decoration on a windowsill.
