A soft spread

A simple quatrefoil design adorns the handle of this ceramic butter knife, enhanced by a rustic ivory glaze. The knife is handmade by ceramicist Hazel Dickinson, using stoneware clay, and is fired to 1,240ºC, strengthening the medium. Hazel works from a tiny studio in her garden in Buckinghamshire, where she spends her evenings dreaming up designs and her days transforming them into clay pieces.
