A spring pack age
A paint-speckled egg, beautifully presented, makes a welcome surprise at the breakfast table on Easter morning. The hardboiled egg is gently bound in coloured twine, carefully secured with a loose bow. Two small flowers with their leaves attached are slipped under the string, in this case, lilac Viola odorata. A tray is scattered with different flowers of a similar hue, such as Boronia anemonifolia, and the egg placed in the middle. It can be left as a simple Easter decoration or undone, peeled and eaten. Either way, the display captures the springlike sense of slowly awakening life.
