A rummage in the cutlery drawer can prompt a project to transform tarnished dessert spoons into a distinctive set of wall hooks

W ORN AND UNWANTED spoons can be turned into unusual rustic hooks. Mounted on a weathered piece of wood, they create a handy place to hang cooking utensils. A selection of odd spoons can be used, particularly those with detail on the handles as this will be on show when the cutlery is hammered into shape to form the hook. The wood mount is fixed to the wall so that items are close to hand when needed in the kitchen.
