Country companion

A couple of years ago, I lost my mum and, with her, all the knowledge of the countryside and folklore of our beautiful country. She knew about poor man’s cheese and could forage for wild garlic with the best. This year, my husband bought me a subscription to LandScape for Christmas and I have thoroughly enjoyed every page. I have folded the corners of recipe pages I want to try and places I want to visit. I have been flooded with gratitude to my husband for buying me the magazine, but also for feeling like I am listening to my mum again.
