Alresford Watercress Festival

Held on the third sunday of May each year, the nationally acclaimed festival celebrates this locally grown, delicious and versatile crop. there will be demonstrations of delicious watercress-inspired dishes by famous chefs, awards for the most creative uses of the plant and the popular watercress eating competition, which has become a festival highlight. the day will include a parade of jazz musicians and Morris dancers accompanied by local schoolchildren distributing the first of the season’s watercress harvest to festival-goers.
