DELICATE BLUSH
Punctuating borders with raspberry-pink tones, the long, bell-shaped blooms of Campanula takesimana ‘Elizabeth’ hang gracefully from slender stems above a rosette of glossy, heartshaped leaves. Appearing in profusion from midsummer, the tubular flowers are flushed with rich fuchsia pink, softening to a creamy-white at the edge, the dark burgundy freckles on the inner petals just visible. A rhizomatous perennial, they do well in bright sun or dappled shade, in moist soil that is well drained. These distinctive flowers make a striking sight in a border when mixed with taller plants and can equally be grown in a container. In full bloom, their nectar-rich flowers draw bees to the summer garden.
