Splashes of colour on paper wings
Sydney and Molly have fun outside making vibrant butterflies with paint and paper
Pretty butterflies are made from paper, card and cotton remnants, their wings splashed with colour to create brilliant patterns. Friends Sydney and Molly enjoy time in the garden on a summer’s day mixing paint to decorate the voluminous wings cut out from watercolour paper.
The body of the butterflies is made from a toilet roll tube covered with fabric, and two short pieces of string form the antennae when glued into place.
Easy to make and with a naive charm, the butterflies allow the girls to experiment with simple paint techniques and, once finished, they can be placed in the garden or arranged to brighten a bedroom.
