An unwanted chair can be repurposed for bathroom storage when turned upside down. Its seat creates a shelf to hold nourishing oils, natural soaps or candles, and its back posts become rails for hanging towels to dry. Mounted on the wall, it keeps essential toiletries within easy reach, away from wet surfaces, and adds a charming feel to the bathroom. To make, the legs are sawn off to equal length as desired and the surface sanded to a smooth finish. The wood is then gently dusted and cleaned, using a damp washcloth. Pure white or eggshell paint is applied with gentle parallel brushstrokes or the chair simply rubbed with a water-based wax to give the natural twists of the grain a polished finish. Once dried, the upturned chair is securely fixed to the wall at a suitable and safe height and position.
