Cuttings all wrapped up for spring

This simple method of taking cuttings of hardwood, such as cornus, keeps them wrapped up until planting time

-

HARDWOOD CUTTINGS ARE taken in the dormant season, from mid autumn to late winter, which is an ideal time, as these are the less busy months for the gardener. The cuttings provide a reliable method of propagating deciduous shrubs, such as cornus, or dogwood. They may take several months to root, so should be checked carefully and transplanted once they have established a good root system. Lots of new plants can be made by following this simple technique, requiring only a few basic materials.
