TAKING CARE OF THE WINTER LAWN

-

During the wetter, colder months, the garden lawn is at risk of becoming compacted, which can prevent water from draining and lead to damage. Compaction is often a result of frequent walking over troubled areas, causing the soil to harden and bare patches to appear. A garden fork pressed deep into the ground several times over the affected area will help to aerate the soil and improve drainage. To prevent further damage, it is best to avoid walking on the lawn until the weather improves.
