Leontopodium alpinum Blossom of Snow

-

COMMONLY KNOWN AS EDELWEISS which signifies noble purity. Interestingly, it was first used in Switzerland as a military symbol for Brigadier Generals. Edelweiss is now a protected species following over collection in the wild by the fans of ‘The Sound of Music’. Furry silver-grey foliage is soft to the touch much like rabbits’ ears. An abundance of large showy, lightly fragranced blooms smother the foliage from June to September. The flowers have the detail of a large, winter snowflake, hence the name. Blossom of Snow was bred by a florist to be long-stemmed, making them excellent scented cut flowers for your home. Rabbit and deer resistant. Prefers moist, welldrained soil in part shade. Fully hardy perennial. Your order is covered by our No Quibble Guarantee and will be confirmed together with a copy of our latest catalogue. Your 9cm pots will be delivered within 14 days.
