NOTES FROM THE SHORE
Working from her home studio on the Isle of Mull, artist Joanna Caskie draws inspiration from the colours and textures of the natural world and its beautiful coastline to create rustic books and journals. This book is made from driftwood found on a local beach and bound with strong linen thread using traditional Coptic stitch binding. The paper is lightly dyed to create the appearance of having just been pulled from the waves, so that the whole piece is wedded to the sea.
