POTTING UP PLUGS
Plug plants can be started off in early spring to allow the most time to mature. Plugs are easier to grow than plants from seed and can be bought from a garden centre or specialist nursery. The plugs should be left in a bowl of water as soon as they are received, before leaving them to settle in a warm spot for at least a day. Once potted, the plants should be placed in a greenhouse or under a cold frame until the risk of frost has passed, usually mid May.
