I’LL be hon­est, I’m not a big fan of sta­dium tours. It’s just not the same walk­ing up to a sta­dium with­out the an­tic­i­pa­tion of a match to look for­ward to.

Yet a look be­hind the scenes at Arse­nal’s Emi­rates Sta­dium isn’t a bad sub­sti­tute if you haven’t got the time, chance or big enough bank bal­ance to get to the real thing.

I went with a few fam­ily mem­bers on the self-guided au­dio tour, which cost £20 for adults and also in­cluded ad­mis­sion to the Mu­seum (which would be £8 separately).

You could, how­ever, ar­range to go on a leg­ends tour at dou­ble the price with Char­lie Ge­orge, Nigel Win­ter­burn or, er, Perry Groves.

The au­dio tour is avail­able in nine lan­guages (English, Dutch, French, Ger­man, Ital­ian, Span­ish, Por­tuguese, Chi­nese and Ja­panese), show­ing you how wide the ap­peal is.
