WELCOME TO LATE TACKLE

Firstly, it’s a belated Happy New Year to you, our loyal readers, and thanks again for your continued support.

As we headed into 2022, there was some uncertainty over the way football was going as the Omicron variant triggered a wave of postponements up and down the land.

The game was in need of a pick-meup and luckily the FA Cup provided it with a third round to remember. Cambridge did League One proud with their magnificent victory at top-flight Newcastle, while the likes of Nottingham Forest, Hartlepool and Kidderminster also savoured memorable cup successes.

Aside from a glance back at the best of the cup action, we’ve got plenty for you in this edition. From Bryan Robson to Billy Gilmour, Diego Maradona to Mattie Pollock, we reckon there’s something for everyone.

We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time- sensitive pieces.

That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.

We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
