WELCOME TO LATE TACKLE
THE business end of the season is almost upon up and nerves are jangling up and down the country.
In the Premier League, Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town have found it tough going this term following promotion from the Championship last season.
Of the three, last season’s play-off winners Luton look to have the best chance of staying up.
We take a look at the progress made by Rob Edwards and his troops as they seek to prove their doubters wrong.
But that’s just a fraction of what’s on offer in this edition.
For example, we also take a look at Brighton’s phenomenal progress since their dark days of yesteryear, Gareth Southgate’s chances of leading England to glory in Germany this summer and Pascal Chimbonda’s managerial challenge at Non-league Skelmersdale United.
As you can see, we’ve got a real mix of features and reckon there is something for everyone to enjoy.
As usual, a heartfelt thanks go to all our contributors.
If you fancy writing for the magazine please get in touch. You can send submissions and ideas to latetackle@hotmail.co.uk
We read everything that comes in and use the best stuff each issue. Please do remember that as the magazine is printed only every six weeks or so, we can’t use time-sensitive pieces.
That aside, the main rule is there are no rules: as long as your piece is about football (pretty crucial, that) and on the right side of legal, we’ll consider it for publication.
We just want stuff that is interesting, funny, poignant, insightful, or maybe even all four.
John Lyons, editor
