Grindey nets six goals as Dyers Arms break United

DYERS Arms found their shooting boots to put 22 goals past a startled Breaks United with Dom Grindey the star of the show with a double hattrick.

Grindey was quickly off the mark in the third minute and he went on to score after 22, 29, 44, 55 & 80 to make it six for the morning.

Adrian Stubbs (12) and Kieran Millward (16) hit one a piece. Dec Heath scored a hat-trick in the first half (5, 20 and 35) with Sam Potts (8, 27, 64 and 73) and Jordan Taylor (37, 60, 72, and 83) netting a brace in each half. Mike Keates (75 and 87) also added a brace with Josh Pakeman completing the rout in the last minute. Tyler Walwyn scored the consolatio­n for Breaks.

Buxton Stags were soon on top of their game against Bulls Head as Jake Burnham opened the scoring after five minutes from a Heathcote corner. James Gemmill soon added a second and by the 20-minute mark Gemmill completed his brace. Bulls Head conceded a penalty as Jack Gregory was fouled, but couldn’t take advantage as he hit the bar with the resulting penalty. Bulls Head played much better in the second half, and should have scored but for keeper Jamie Leaning tipping over the bar. Steve Winterbott­om made it 4-0 with a header at the back post from a superb Gilbride cross.

Waterhouse­s maintained their winning form, beating AFC Wellington 5-0. Wellington played well for an hour limiting the damage to an Ash Cummingham goal half way through the first half. Jake Binns doubled Waterhouse­s’ lead on the hour with Adam Taylor (75), Dan Buxton (82) and Lee Buxton (85) hitting singles.

Prince of Wales doubled their points with a 5-1 win over Breaks Athletic at Birchall. It was a tight first half with an Edwin Ellis goal on the half hour separating the two sides at the interval.

Adam Clowes levelled for Breaks just before the hour, but then Prince charged ahead as Sam Wainwright hit a brace in the following 10 minutes with Dan Lawlor and Tommy Coates hitting singles in the final 10.

Golden Lion, having lost last week, took their frustratio­n out on Vale Hoppers at Back Lane. The game was even for 20 minutes, but then Lion took control to take a comfortabl­e three-goal lead into the break with goals from Jermaine James, Aaron Walker and Scott Dixon. The second half was much the same as Razz Stewart and Dave Barratt topped up to make it five without reply.

Forsbrook outfit Butchers Arms had to be content with a point from a 2-2 home draw with The Plough Bignall End in the POTTERIES AND DISTRICT LEAGUE Premier Division.

Nathan Calvert and Danny Glover scored for the Forsbrook-based Butchers, with Adam Mainwaring and Luke Jones replying for Bignall.

Into Division One where Chesterton Grange YC returned from their visit to the Moorlands with the three points following a 4-1 win over Cheadle United.

Pat Callaghan scored for Cheadle from the penalty spot, but Jordan Burrows, Joseph Sargeant, Luke Alcock and Tristan Barker earned the points for Chesterton.

There was better news for Cheadle Town however, as they won on the road at FC Clayton. Goals from Matt Woodward, Ash Keates, Ben Milner and Ben Hackney earned them a 4-2 win over Clayton, who replied through Matt Barlow and Zoltan Toth.

Holditch Club were involved in a 3-3 home draw with Black Cock, a new team this season from Blythe Bridge.

Craig Bloor (2) and Josh Sines scored for Holditch, with Simon Shone, James Thompson and Jamie Leese replying for Black Cock.

Fulford United were 4-3 winners at Red Lion Hartshill, whlle goals from Macauley Smith and Joseph Hill earned The Windmill a 2-0 home win over Social Services.

Churnet Valley hit Uttoxeter Town for six when the teams met in the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE Division One.

Andrew Coxon and Jack Hassall netted two apiece and there were singles for Matt Sherratt and Joe Proctor.

JCB Lakeside returned from their trip to Marchingto­n with a 3-0 victory over Bulls Head.

Nick Longdon, Ron Edwards and Dan Boot were their scorers.

Uttoxeter Dominoes also netted three times in their home game against Sudbury Park. Lee Mills, Jordan Elden and Dale Boot were on target for Dominoes, with Anthony Doran netting Sudbury’s consolatio­n effort.

Cheadle Rovers came out on top of their derby match with Cheadle-based Bird in Hand, thanks to goals from Jordan Ford and Josh Ford wrapping up a 2-0 victory.

Into Division Two where Abbots Bromley also netted six goals when they entertaine­d Stone Outlanes.

Sam Chilvers helped himself to a hat-trick, while there were singles for Will Ferneyhoug­h, Will Maidstone and Andy Richard.

Conner Graham scored twice and there was a single for Gabe Sumnall as Sudbury FC beat Stone Town 3-1. Ian Johnson was the scorer for Stone and Bramshall were 2-1 winners at Doveridge FC.

Danny Coates and Mark Oldham netted for Bramshall.
