BIDDULPH: There will be a Flower Festival from October 12-14 at Biddulph Methodist Church and Victoria Centre, Station Road.

Biddulph U3A Floral Art Group, led by Lynn Breeze, will present the festival in the church.

The viewing times are

Friday, October 12, 9am-3pm, Saturday, 9am-3pm and Sunday, noon-3pm. Admission is free.

There will also be a variety show concert on the Saturday night (£5) at 7pm and a coffee morning on the Saturday, 9am-noon.

The event will be raising money for MS Research (Multiple Sclerosis Society).

LEEK: Leek Salvation Army is staging a flower festival tomorrow, Friday and Saturday.

The event will be take place at the Salvation Army premises in Salisbury Street between 10am and 4pm each day.

It is only the second time the army has staged a flower festival, the last one being more than 20 years ago.

The flower arrangemen­ts, designed on the history of the Salvation Army, will be completed by Leek Floral Art Society under the direction of Lorraine Simcox.

All the arrangemen­ts will be for sale and there will also be a craft table and refreshmen­ts available.

On Sunday, the Salvation Army is holding harvest services at 11am and 6pm.

CHEDDLETON: The Local Walking for Health Group meet at the Boat Inn Car Park at Cheddleton each Monday at 1.45pm.

RUSHTON: Rushton Methodist Church Harvest Weekend takes place this weekend, starting on Saturday with the annual gift day, 2-5pm. On Sunday is the October Harvest Service at 4pm with David Walton.

BAGNALL: Bagnall Parish Action Group’s October walk departs at 10.30am on Saturday from the Stafford Arms, ST9 9JR. The three-mile walk is likely to take around an hour and a half.
