Radcliffe slump goes on in third defeat in a row
RADCLIFFE FC’S good start to the Evo-stik Northern Premier League Division One West season has stumbled and Saturday saw them suffer a third successive defeat.
And it was a shock 2-0 home loss to previously win-less Skelmersdale United!
Sean Yeldrum immediately after half-time and then Kevin Edgar right at the end were the Skem scorers.
That was the only outright win in the restricted four-game fixture list on Saturday.
Kendal Town came from 2-0 down at Parkside against Ramsbottom United, whose Jerome Wright bagged a brace by half-time.
Shaun Gardner on 56 minutes and then an own goal from recent signing Kyle Jacobs earned the Mintcakes a point.
Colwyn Bay also found themselves 2-0 down at Llanelian Road against Newcastle Town, whose Jack Van Der Laan and Chris Smith were on target by the half-hour mark.
Danny Andrews and Tom Mccready levelled before half-time and then James Barrigan put Bay in front 4 minutes after the break, only for Smith to score his second 5 minutes later
Jacob Lovatt put Chasetown in front in the day’s other game at home to Clitheroe after 14 minutes, but Andreas Bianga equalised 10 minutes before half-time.
Last Tuesday night, Bamber
Bridge suffered a 5-0 hammering on home turf in their FA Cup replay against Cleethorpes Town.
The Lincolnshire outfit were already two goals up through Scott Vernon and Jonathan Oglesby by the 15th minute when Brig went down to ten-men following a straight red card for Michael Potts.
Eight minutes later, Oglesby netted his second and Clee’s third.
Oglesby completed his hat-trick after 67 minutes and Josh Batty made it a nap hand in stoppage time.
One goal from Dan Maguire proved enough for Blyth Spartans at Croft Park against Evo-stik Northern Premier League Premier Division visitors Nantwich Town.
Elsewhere in the round, an allnpl Premier Division replay saw Coalville Town ease past Buxton at Owen Street 4-1.
