‘So lucky to have you’

-

MY husband and I moved to the Moorlands in 2013, having previously lived in Hertfordshire for over 30 years. On our early shopping trips to Leek we were immediately struck by how helpful and friendly everybody in the town was. In the last few months we have really learnt how good customer service can be.

On Friday, August 17 our daughter Alice married the love of her life, Steven Monks at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire.

A long way from Leek you may say but it was the independent shopkeepers in Leek that helped make the day very special.

Simon from Possibilities Florist helped, advised and supplied beautiful flowers which I transported 100 miles to Northamptonshire to create the table decorations.

Diane from Little Gem made beautiful bespoke necklaces for the bridesmaids that could not be found in the great metropolis of Milton Keynes, where Alice lives and likes to shop.

Karen from White Lane Boutique in Russell Street allowed me to take

a variety of headgear on approval for Alice to consult with her hairdresser.

Again, something that was not possible in the chain stores.

Also the people who helped me look my best on the day, Katy from DJS for my hair, Jessica and colleagues from Little Luxuries for nails etc, Karen and Stevie from the Bra Boutique who let me try several items on approval before finally making my decision, Mosaic for my hat and Leek Jewellers and Goldsmiths in High Street who rhodium plated our wedding rings while we waited and made them look as sparkly as the bride and groom’s.

Thank you to the independent shops and shopkeepers of Leek for helping making the day so very special. We are so lucky to have you! Judy Holt Elkstones
