- By Leslie Jackson leslie.jackson@reachplc.com

WOODCROFT First School in Leek opened the doors to its nursery and reception class for prospective and existing parents and carers last week.

Pupils and staff at the school invited members of the public to see the new nursery and reception provision for themselves.

The school opened their own teacher led nursery class in September, with spaces for 26 pupils.

Children can start in the nursery class from the term after their third birthday where they can enjoy access to their own playground with a fully qualified, experienced teacher and full time teaching support to further aid learning.

As the setting is new, nursery class places are available for this academic year for children of three and four years old with immediate starts as well as intakes in January and April of next year.

The nursery and reception classes are situated in close proximately to each other to ensure the transition into the reception class is seamless,

Headteacher Helen Hewitt, said, “We are delighted to have our own teacher led nursery here at Woodcroft First School.

“It will ensure that the children get the very best start to their education in a fun and engaging setting.”

Parents who were not able to attend the open evening are encouraged to contact the school office on 01538 714796 to make an appointment to view the facilities at a convenient time.
