A chance to get ideas for your local heritage project
ARE you involved in a community group, village school or parish council based in the South West Peak and have an idea for a local project?
If so, there is a free workshop taking place which will help you to get started or progress your project.
The workshop, “Developing Your Community Project” is being held on Wednesday, November 7, 9.45am-2.30pm at Swythamley and Heaton Centre.
It will be an informative and interactive workshop giving details of key funding sources, tips on how to write successful funding applications, and a great chance to share ideas with, and learn from, other local community groups, with lunch provided too.
Visitors will find out more about the South West Peak Community Grants programme, and the South West Peak Landscape Partnership Scheme (supported by a £2.4m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund) through which the grants programme is funded.
The grants programme offers grants of between £500 and £10,000 for a variety of projects that contribute to enhancing, protecting or celebrating the natural, built or cultural heritage of the South West Peak.
Local groups are already benefiting from this grant scheme with improvements to the Wildboarclough School Rooms’ car park and a walking guide. The workshop is free and open to individuals, community groups, schools, parish councils and church groups that want to develop a community project in the South West Peak.
It is organised and led by Support Staffordshire, a partner in the Landscape Partnership Scheme.
