Lowe fires in hat-trick as Butchers secure victory

TOM Lowe scored a hat-trick for Butchers Arms as they reached the second round of the Sentinel Sunday Cup with a 4-1 win at Staffordsh­ire Knot.

Ryan Miszkiel was also on the scoresheet for Forsbrook outfit Butchers, with Joe Steventon netting for Knot.

Chesterton Grange YC are among the favourites for promotion to the Premier Division this season and showed their credential­s with a 5-1 victory at Adderley Green.

Chesterton are top of Division One and proved too good for their Premier Division opponents with Serkari Ahmadi helping himself to a hat-trick, with Dan Mcdonald and Joe Sargeant also on the scoresheet for Chesterton, with Elisio Francisco replying for Green.

Sneyd were involved in a close tussle with Coors League Premier outfit Cuckoo Albion and it took a goal from Nick Aitken to decided the tie in favour of Sneyd.

However, AFC Trent Tavern lost 5-3 at home to Leek outfit Breaks Athletic, Knave (Danny Sheldon) lost 6-1 at Sneyd Green and The Windmill (Dean Mullock) lost 2-1 to AFC Dolphin.

AFC Moorlands are through to the second round of the League Cup following a 7-0 win at Fulford United.

Hopkins, Glasby and Graham scored two apiece, with Moores adding a single.

Cheadle United moved up to second spot in Division One after beating Chesterton AFC 3-1. Ben Carr scored twice with Pete Johnson adding a single. Silverdale Athletic were 6-1 winners at home to FC Clayton.

Into Division Two where Moorcroft United went top with a 12-2 home win over AFC Click, while James Whitehurst (2), Adam Parkinson (2), Shane Matthews (2), Callum Matthews and Tom Hall scored for Social Services in an 8-3 home win over Holditch United (Wayne Allott, Steven Colclough, Robert Palmer).

Akoufe Hijazi scored twice for Keele University in their 2-0 win at Holditch Club.

Mark Adams scored twice as Tean Vets beat Royal Burslem 6-1 in the Veteran’s Division.

Leaders Churnet Valley suffered a 2-1 victory at Uttoxeter Dominoes in the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE Division One.

It was their first league defeat of the season. Lee Mills and Jack Grzsiak scored for Dominoes, with Macauley Rowe netting for Churnet Valley.

JCB Lakeside would have joined the leaders on 16 points had they not been held to a 4-4 draw by Uttoxeter Town.

Lewis Rand (2), Joe Avery and Kieran Bullock scored for Town, with Matt Redshaw (2), Dan Boot and Ed Robotham replying for JCB.

Bird in Hand were 5-4 winners at bottom club Sudbury Park.

Ryan Smart (2), Ben Price, Pishdar Azi and Josh Mclaren were on target for Cheadlebas­ed Bird, with Jamaine Mcfarlane (2), Man St Clair and Andy Blythe scoring for Sudbury.

Into Division Two where Abbots Bromley closed to within three points of leaders Doveridge following a 5-2 home win over Bramshall.

Sam Chilvers (2), David Neves, Joe Haywood and James Stevenson scored for Bromley, with Danny Coates and Wayne Tostivin replying for Bramshall.

Stone Town were held to a 3-3 draw by Tuns FC 2014.

John Beech (2) and Simon Nagington scored for Stone, but goals from Matt Ashby, Macauley Greensmith amd Jordan Histed earned Tuns a welcome point and prevented Stone from moving into third place.

Tean Rangers were 4-0 winners at bottom club Stone Outlanes, thanks to goals from Jack Haylock-kirkman (2), Sam Little and Josh Greensmith and over in the Moorlands, AFC Ipstones were involved in a 2-2 draw with Sudbury FC.

Luke Stevenson and Musium Onemli scored for Ipstones, with Joe Rommelrath and Connor Graham finding the net for Derbyshire outfit Sudbury.
